between the words
Welcome to Wanderland.
Life is a journey, and we’re all wandering through our valleys, searching for direction, purpose, and validation. We strive to understand who we are, what we want, why we are the way we are, and whether we can change what we don’t like or surpass who we think we should be.
In a world overflowing with words, what does it truly mean to be our authentic selves? Are we really seeking truth, or are we simply shaping it into what we want it to be?
In this space, we search, we learn, and we seek understanding. The journey never truly ends, but the hope is that we grow through it.
So wander around…
July 2025
National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month: “Once my loved ones accepted the diagnosis, healing began for the entire family, but it took too long. It took years. Can’t we, as a nation, begin to speed up that process? We need a national campaign to destigmatize mental illness, especially one targeted toward African Americans…It’s not shameful to have a mental illness. Get treatment. Recovery is possible.” – Bebe Moore

Confessions of an Empath
I’ve always wanted to share my words with others—but more than that, I want to create words for others. So I do.
These poems are for those they were meant to find.
For those who need to hear, simply: I see you.
How Do You Heal Your Soul?
In my book So Heavy, I Fell: A Journey Through Wanderland, I don’t shy away from intimate or difficult truths—because they’re not just “topics” I chose to explore. I lived them.
Bipolar disorder. Manic episodes. Depression. Suicidal ideation. Sexual assault. Betrayal. Toxic and domestic abuse.
These experiences are told through the raw pages of my personal journals—not to gain sympathy, but to offer empathy. Because if any part of this speaks to you, I want you to know: you’re not alone.
And even when we do the hard work to heal—physically, emotionally—
how do we heal the soul?
